Admission Process

NEET Entrance Exam

Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Admission

To get into the MBBS program at MIMS, you need to clear an entrance exam called NEET-UG. If you pass this exam, there's another step where you need to appear called NEET UG counseling. It's a seat allotment process to make sure you're in the right place. For counseling to happen, you need to have a certain score in NEET UG. If you're in the general category, the eligibility score in 10+2 is 50%. Still, if you're in other groups like SC/ST/OBC, you can get in with 40%, which would also work. If you have special needs (PWD), there are different scores for that, too.

Selection Process

Category-A Seats (50% of sanctioned intake):

  • These seats are allotted through counseling conducted by the competent authority's committee.
  • The committee, appointed by the competent authority, selects candidates based on merit from those who qualify in the NEET exam held by the Government of India for that year.
  • The rules of reservation are followed in this process.

Category-B Seats (35% of sanctioned intake):

  • NEET Qualified Ranking Based Management Seats.
  • Seats are filled through counseling conducted by a committee appointed by the competent authority, which includes the Vice Chancellor of KNRUHS.
  • The committee considers merit from candidates who qualified in NEET for that year.
  • The committee comprises a nominee of TPMDCMA and the Director of Medical Education, T.S.Hyd.
  • The Registrar of KNR UHS serves as the convener, with assistance from KNR UHS officers.
  • The KNR UHS issues notifications and the admission process is completed as per the schedule set by the selection committee.

Category-C Seats (15% NRI Quota):

  • The competent authority, i.e., the Vice Chancellor of KNR UHS, fills these seats through a selection committee constituted for Category B seats.
  • KNR UHS issues notifications for these seats, and NEET-qualified NRI candidates fill them.
  • Eligibility criteria for NRI candidate admissions follow the regulations set by MCI from time to time.

Now, the MBBS program itself is like a big journey. It takes 4.5 years, plus you need to do a one-year thing where you work in different areas of medicine. They call it a rotating medical internship – it's like trying out different jobs to see what you like.

  • For Management Quota applicants, the college selection group assesses each application based on the subsequent criteria: marks obtained in the 10+2 examination or equivalent, performance in a personal interview, health status, and exceptional aptitude in extracurricular activities.

Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences MD/MS Admission

If you're interested in various MD/MS programs, the admission process is pretty similar for all of them. Firstly, you need to have an MBBS degree. That should be from a recognized university and a valid medical registration certificate. Then, you have to pass NEET-PG conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The minimum marks for NEET-PG can change every year, so make sure you stay updated. Some programs might have extra criteria like specific work experience or research publications.

Your NEET-PG score is crucial for getting selected. Higher scores increase your chances. After the results, there's counseling where they allocate seats based on your score, preferences, and available seats. If you get selected, you'll need to go through document verification, pay the admission fees, and complete the formalities. The application will start in December/January. Then, the exam is typically in May/June, and counseling begins after the NEET-PG results, usually in June/July.
