Kumaun University Distance Learning, located in Dehradun; Uttarakhand, was established in 1973. • Kumaun University Distance Learning offers undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Management, Science, Arts, Mass Communication, Commerce, Computer Applications, and medical under various specializations.
• For undergraduate courses, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination in relevant subjects with not less than 55% aggregate marks from a recognized board of education. The final selection is based on an entrance test conducted by the university.
• Kumaun University Distance Learning offers BA, BFA, BBA, B. Ed, and LLB at the undergraduate level. B. Sc, BCA, B. Pharma, B. Com and B. Voc programs under various specializations. 
• Kumaun University Distance Learning offers MA in 15 specializations; MFA; MBA; M. Com; M. Sc in 12 specializations; MCA; M. Pharma and MSW at postgraduate level.
• Minimum eligibility for PG courses is Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university.
• Final selection into MBA and M. Ed program is based on candidates' scores in national-level entrance examinations.
• Kumaun University Distance Learning also offers Ph. D and M. Phil programs; for admission into which candidate must have completed Master’s degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks from a recognized board. Final selection for admission into Ph. D is done based on the Research Degree Entrance Test (RDET) conducted by the university.
