The California State University (Cal State or CSU) is a public university system in California. Composed of 23 campuses and eight off-campus centers enrolling 437,000 students with 44,000 faculty members and staff, CSU is the largest four-year public university system in the United States. It is one of three public higher education systems in the state, with the other two being the University of California system and the California Community College system. The CSU System is incorporated as The Trustees of the California State University. The California State University system headquarters are at 401 Golden Shore in Long Beach, California.
The California State University was created in 1960 under the California Master Plan for Higher Education, and it is a direct descendant of the system of California State Normal Schools.With nearly 100,000 graduates annually, the CSU is the country's greatest producer of bachelor's degrees.
Master of Business Administration (MBA or M.B.A.) program track is designed for individuals of widely varied backgrounds. Elective courses provide for concentration in one of the following areas: accounting, business economics, information systems, finance, health care management, international business, management, and marketing.
The interdisciplinary studies major for the Master of Arts or Master of Science degree is a highly restricted interdisciplinary program designed for students whose professional/academic objectives are unique and cannot be met by existing master’s degree offerings. It is a program that comprises course offerings from at least two departments in related disciplines and must provide sharp focus and appropriate coherence. As a rule, no more than 13 quarter units of previously completed acceptable course work may be included on an approved master’s degree program.
The Bachelor of Science degree with Special options is a program that allows students to prepare for innovative careers in engineering through interdisciplinary combinations of course work. Three special options in manufacturing engineering, environmental engineering, and rehabilitation engineering are offered. This program is not yet accredited by EAC/ABET.

Freshman Admission : If you received preparatory education outside the United States, you must have completed the equivalent of 12 years of elementary and secondary schooling with the equivalent of a B average or higher.

Housing : Housing Services offers a comfortable living environment for Cal State L.A. students year round and conference space during summer. Our apartments are furnished and include fully equipped kitchens with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher.
Dining : The Dining Commons offers Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on weekdays and an extended Brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Campus Safety : The Department of Public Safety has several components: University Police, Investigations/Crime Prevention, Parking Services, Key Control, Transportation Services, Fire-Life Services, Lock Shop, Emergency Preparedness and Security of Records. All sections of the department work toward the same goals to ensure that the campus is a safe place to study, teach, work, reside and visit. The department utilizes a proactive approach that includes crime prevention and safety programs available on a continuing basis.
