To candidates aspiring to pursue MBA and make a career in management entrance exams are must to get admissions in elite colleges. Although CAT exam has a prominent status among all the competitive exams it is not only the option. There are many other exams like XAT, SNAP, CMAT, NMAT etc.

Here we give you the complete information about the exam pattern of 3 MBA entrance exams which are

XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

XAT exam refers to Xavier Aptitude Test. The 2019 XAT will be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on January 6th, 2019.  It is a computer based test.

Timings: 10am- 1.35pm

Exam Pattern: XAT basically has 5 sections. 

Part 1

  • It includes Verbal and logical ability, Decision Making and Quantitative ability and data interpretation.
  • Verbal and logical ability includes 24 questions.
  • Decision making includes 21 questions.
  • Quantitative ability and data interpretation includes 27 questions.
  • Time to solve Part 1 is about 170 minutes.

Part 2

This includes Essay writing and general knowledge questions. General knowledge questions are about 25. There will be one essay writing topic.

Features of XAT 2018-19

  • Consists of 98 questions. Out of which 97 are MCQs.
  • Words limit for essay writing is 200.
  • 5 answer options for each MCQs
  • Each correct answer gains +1 mark whereas each wrong answer has a negative marking of 0.25.
  • Candidates should submit the test paper 30 minutes after the commencement of the test time.
  • XAT 2019 will have duration of 2 hours.

SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)

SNAP exam refers to Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. This is a mandatory entrance test for the MBA admissions in one of the 15 Symbiosis Institutes. The mode of the exam is online.

Timings- 2PM-4PM

Exam Pattern:

  • It consists of 150 questions.
  • Candidates should complete the test in 2 hours. All questions are MCQs.
  • This has basically 4 sections.

Section 1: It consists of General English- Verbal ability and comprehension.  It carries 40 questions.

Section 2 : This includes analytical and logical reasoning. Section 2 carries 40 questions as well.

Section 3 : This involves Quantitative ability and data interpretation.  Section 3 carries 40 questions.

Section 4 : Section 4 is all about current affairs questions. This carries 30 questions.

Features of SNAP 2018-19

  • The level of the test is Moderate.
  • Each wrong answer holds 0.25 negative marking.
  • Each right answer is rewarded with 1 mark.

NMAT (Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test)

NMAT refers to Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies Aptitude test. It is a national level entrance test for the admissions in MBA in top Colleges like NMIMS.  NMAT is accepted by 22 institutes in India. It is an online based test

It will be held from October 4th to December 17th.

It basically has 3 sections. 

Exam Patten:

Section 1: It is about language skills which consists 32 questions and about 22 minutes is allocated for this section.

Section 2 : It is about quantitative skills which has 48 questions and an hour is allotted for this section.

Section 3: Section 3 is about logical reasoning and includes 40 questions and 38 minutes are allotted for this section.

NMAT Features

  • Total 2 hours is allocated for this test.
  • It includes 120 questions.
  • Best advantage is you can take this test 3 times during the admission process.
  • There is no negative marking system.
  • All the questions are MCQs.
  • There are about 5 options for each question.
  • Difficulty level is moderate.
  • Marks awarded for each right answer is 1.
