The Medical degree program offered by the Manipal University is been standardized by the Malaysian Medical Council and General Medical Council of Great Britain. The Manipal University grants the MBBS and BDS degree after the successful completion of 4 and half years of regular class and 1 year of internship program from the institute of high repute. The university aims at catering promising knowledge by conducting activities like clinical training and theory classes and according to MCI guidelines.

For MBBS degree program, the university guides the candidates to inculcate various learning techniques and practices  by including Self-directed learning modules, Emergency stat lab posting, Didactic lectures, Seminars for postgraduates, Bench side diagnostic training, Clinical case presentation, Research mentoring, Journal club presentation, Interactive tests, Team based learning sessions, One-on-one discussions and Problem solving sessions in the curriculum.

BDS abbreviated as Bachelors of Dental Surgery is a 4+1 year’s degree program offered by the Manipal University. Initial 4 years of the program will be completely into academic learning and the last 1 year is dedicated to internship programs. The university campus comprises of Dental clinic, Ceramic lab, Chrome cobalt lab, Community camp observation and Compulsory basic life support training center.

Master of Surgery, degree program is approved by the Medical Council of India and is recognized abroad. The master degree program is a 3 years duration course and is offered in the streams such as, Obstetrics & Gynecology, General Surgery, Orthopedics Ophthalmology, and Oto-Rhino-Laryngology. Clinical case discussions, experience in assisting and performing surgeries, Seminars, journal clubs and patient care and postgraduate clinical training in operation rooms and dissection lab to improve the clinical skills are the part of MS degree course curriculum.

Doctor of Medicine in short known as MD, is a master degree program offered by Manipal University which comprises of specializations like Biochemistry Anesthesiology, Community Medicine, Anatomy, Forensic Medicine, Dermatology Venereology & Leprosy, General Medicine, Immunohematology & Blood Transfusion Hospital Administration, Pediatrics, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Physiology, Respiratory Medicine, Radio diagnosis, and Radiotherapy. MD course comprises of Collaboration with clinical disciplines, Conference presentations, Cadaveric dissection, Training in paper publication, Slide preparations, and Weekly seminars in its curriculum.

MANIPAL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL (MBBS/BDS/MS/MD) ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Eligibility criteria for MBBS and BDS course are:

  • Nationality: Candidates has to be an Indian by nationality to apply for admission. NRI/OCI/POI candidates can also apply for the course.
  • Age: Candidates born on or before 31st December 2002 can apply for the course. 
  • Qualification Criteria:??

MBBS

Pass in 10+2 of India /equivalent examination like ISCE, CBSE, IB Diploma, A Levels, OSSD, NCEA Level 3, HSC, American High School Diploma, Senior Certificate etc. with Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, and English individually.

Minimum requirement is 50% marks or ‘C’ grade for Physics, Biology/Biotechnology Chemistry,  and English plus 50 percentile or above in the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET).

BDS

Pass in 10+2, American 12th grade, A level, IB, or equivalent with Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English individually with at least 50% marks in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and taken together.

MS/MD Eligbility Criteria

  • Age criteria: Their will be no age criteria for the aspirant willing to seek admission at Manipal University.
  • Duration: MD and MS course is for 3 years duration (The duration of MD Course is 2 years for those with a 2 years recognized diploma in the same specialty).
  • Nationality: Candidates with nationality as Indian and NRI/OCI/POI can seek admission.
  • Qualification: Candidates should obtain a valid degree in the relevant domain. Candidates should attain valid score in NEET examination.
  • Registration: Candidates should secure a permanent registration with Medical Council of India/State Medical Councils & Karnataka Medical Council.

MANIPAL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL (MBBS/BDS/MS/MD) SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection for the medical degree program offered by the Manipal University will be bade don the score obtained by the candidates in NEET entrance examination. The selection procedures will remain the same for general candidates and foreign candidates.

Note: Foreign candidates with degree from abroad universities will have to attain an equivalent certificate from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi to seek admission.

MANIPAL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL ENTRANCE EXAM

Aspirants seeking for admission at Manipal University for MBBS and BDS courses should attain a valid score in NEET entrance examination held by the NTA board. The admission will be based on the merit list of the score obtained by the aspirants in the entrance examination. In case of NRI candidates, there is no need to take the entrance examination.
