KEA KCET 2019 - Karnataka CET (Common Entrance Test)

Karnataka Common Entrance Test also known as KCET is a state level engineering entrance examination, which is conducted once in every year. The entrance examination is determined on the merit basis of the score obtained by the aspirants.

KCET is accepted by various government and private colleges across the state offering undergraduate degree programs in engineering, dental and medical domain. The entrance examination is been conducting under guidance of government of Karnataka form 1994.

KCET 2019 will be conducted in the month of April 2019, for which the application form will be made available in the month of February 2019. Aspirants meeting all the eligibility criteria can appear for the entrance examination.

KEA KCET 2019 Exam Date

KEA KCET 2019 Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for KCET 2019 if set according to the convenience of the admission authorities to know the suitability for the candidates willing to seek admissions for engineering degree program. In case any candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria will not be entrained to apply for KCET 2019.

  • Age Criteria: Aspirants appearing for KCET 2019 should be of age 17 as on 31st December 2019.
  • Nationality: Aspirants’ to appear for KCET 2019 should be an Indian by nationality.
  • Domicile: Candidates should be a resident of Karnataka to appear for KCET 2019. Other state candidates can apply under other criteria.
  • Qualification: Aspirants willing to appear for KCET 2019 should have completed or pursuing their 12th in science stream from a recognized university.
  • Required Score: Candidates for general category should minimum attain 45% aggregate in 12th with mandatory subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In case of reserved category, candidates with minimum 40% aggregate can apply.

Steps to fill Application Form:

  • Visit KCET official website and navigate to New Registration.
  • Provide the required details and chose the preferred exam center.
  • Upload the scanned copies of photograph, signature and thumb impression.
  • Make the payment and click on submit option.
  • Take the printout of the duly filled application form for further use.

Payment for KCET 2019 can be made through offline mode via demand drafts of any nationalized bank such as State Bank of India, State Bank of Hyderabad, Indian Bank, State Bank of Mysore etc.

  • Mode of examination: The entrance examination will be conducted in offline mode. KCET 2019 is pen and paper based examination.
  • Medium of examination: Candidates appearing for KCET 2019 can opt for 2 different languages i.e. English and Kannada.
  • Duration of the examination: KCET 2019 examination will be conducted for 2 hours and 40 minutes, in total 160 minutes for each exam.
  • Exam paper format: the question paper for KCET 2019 examination will be in multiple choice formats. Aspirants can choose the correct answer from the provided 4 options. 
  • Subjects: Aspirants should have compulsorily studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in their 12th class to be eligible for KCET 2019.
  • Marking Scheme: In KCET 2019 candidates can attain 1 mark by providing 1 correct answer. Wrong answer and unanswered question will not lose any marks.?
  • Number of Questions: KCET 2019 consist of 180 questions, which is been divided into 3 subjects. Every subjects is been allotted 60 questions.  

KEA KCET 2019 Admit Card

Karnataka Examination Authorities will releases the admit card for KCET 2019 in the month of April. Candidates can download the admit card from official website who have successfully registered for the entrance examination.

KEA KCET 2019 Results & Score Card

Results of KCET 2019 will be declared by admission authorities through online mode in the month of June. Candidates appeared for the entrance examination can login with their register number to check their results.

KEA KCET 2019 Counselling & Admission

KCET 2019 counseling will be conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authorities. Selection for admission will be based on the counseling of the score obtained in the entrance examination. Aspirants are allotted seats in the seat allotment procedure of the entrance examination on their ranking in the merit list and selection of college and courses during counseling.
